This here is the Nintendo Wii Remote, this was the native controller for the Nintendo Wii home console, and today I'll be showing how to set it up on Nintendo's newest home console, the Nintendo Wii U.
Here is me taking off the panel on the back of the remove to reveal the batteries, here is where I will find the necessary button to connect the remote to the Wii U Console.
The red button you see here is the "Sync" button, alike the Wii U Pro Controller, this is what we will use to connect the controller to the Wii U Console.
The Wii U Console also has one of these red buttons on its exterior, I will use this button to begin the controller sync process.
This is the screen that comes up after you press the sync button on the Wii U Console, prompting you to press the sync button on the controller.
Here is the Wii remote after syncing. Both the Wii U and the Remote are letting me know that it is connecting, and is the Player One device.
To navigate the Wii U menu's using the Wii remote, you will need to have a Wii Sensor Bar plugged into your Wii U, there is a port on the back of the console for this (Please refer to the Wii U set up page)
And here is me, navigating the Wii U dashboard with the Wii Remote!
Quite a fair amount of Wii U Games are compatible with the device, one of the most recent being Mario Kart 8. This game utilizes the remote kind of like a steering wheel, and also comes with a free wheel accessory!
Here is me playing Mario Kart 8 with the Wii Remote + Wii Wheel accessory. YEAH!
